| Michelangelo was one of the foremost artists in history and a great leader of the Italian Renaissance. Although his main interest was in sculpting large marble statues, his exceptional creativity led him to become a great painter, architect and poet. Some of his greatest works include St. Peter's Church, the Laurentian Library in Florence, the Medici sculptures, and the Last Judgement in the Sistine Chapel. The programmes in this series are a study of the art and life of the great man, and of the history of the period during which his creativity flourished. | ||||||||||||
